Mount Kerinci (also spelled "Kerintji", and is known as the Mountain Tower, Volcano Kurinci, Kerinchi, Korinci, or Indrapura Peak) is a mountain top in Sumatra , the highest volcano in Indonesia, and the highest peak in Indonesia outside Papua . Mount Kerinci is located in the province of Jambi , which borders the province of West Sumatra, in the mountains of Bukit Barisan , near the west coast, and is located approximately 130 km south of Padang . The mountain is surrounded by dense forest Kerinci Seblat National Park and is a habitat for Sumatran tigers and Sumatran rhinoceros .

The peak of Mount Kerinci is located at an altitude of 3805 meters above sea level, visitors can see in the distance stretches a beautiful view of the city of Jambi , Padang and Bengkulu .
